Nexoply vs Chatbase compared: prices, message credits vs conversations, channels and setup, as of September 2026. Which fits a small business?

Updated September 30, 2026 6 min read

In short

Nexoply is built for small business websites: it answers visitors only from your services, prices and policies, with 100 conversations a month free and paid plans at $19, $49 and $99/month. Chatbase is a flexible AI agent builder with many channels (such as WhatsApp, Slack, Messenger and Instagram) and actions; as of September 2026 its paid plans are $40, $150 and $500/month, priced in message credits. For a website-only assistant on a small budget Nexoply usually costs less; for many channels or custom actions, Chatbase does more.

  • Nexoply counts conversations; Chatbase counts message credits, and one conversation uses several messages.
  • Entry paid plan: Nexoply Starter $19/month (500 conversations) vs Chatbase Hobby $40/month (700 message credits), as of September 2026.
  • Removing branding: included in Nexoply Business ($49/month); a $99/month add-on on Chatbase (included on Enterprise).
  • Chatbase supports more channels and actions; Nexoply is website-only and built for non-technical owners.
  • Both answer from content you provide; Nexoply suggests services, prices and FAQs from your website for you to approve.

The short version

Chatbase is an AI agent builder. You train an agent on your sources (a website crawl, files, text, Q&A, Notion and more) and deploy it to a website widget and other channels, with actions and integrations. It's flexible, and technical teams can do a lot with it.

Nexoply is narrower on purpose. It's an AI assistant for small business websites, organised around what a small business actually has: services and prices, FAQs, policies, opening hours and service areas. It answers visitors only from that information and says when it doesn't know instead of guessing. There's no AI key and no technical setup; Nexoply runs the AI.

Pricing and limits side by side

Chatbase's prices were checked on the Chatbase pricing page in September 2026 and can change. Nexoply's are on our pricing page. Chatbase yearly billing is about 20% less; Nexoply yearly billing gives two months free (Starter $190, Business $490, Pro $990 a year).

Setup: builder vs business information

With Chatbase you add sources and shape the agent yourself. That freedom is useful if you know what you're building, and it gives you actions and integrations to connect other tools.

With Nexoply you enter your website address, and it reads your public pages (15 pages per scan on Free, up to 200 on Pro), including pages built with JavaScript. It suggests services with prices in their currency, FAQs, policies, hours and contact details, and nothing is added until you approve it. It also keeps a list of your pages, so the assistant can link a visitor to the right one. Then you paste one line of code into your site: WordPress, Wix, Squarespace, Shopify, Webflow or custom HTML all work.

Say you run a restaurant. Visitors ask about allergens and reservations. Nexoply answers from your menu and policies, links to your booking page, and if a dish's allergens aren't in your information, it says it doesn't know rather than guessing. Questions it couldn't answer are listed in the dashboard and can become FAQs in one click.

Who should choose Chatbase, who should choose Nexoply

Chatbase is the better fit if:

  • You want the same AI agent on several channels, such as WhatsApp, Slack, Messenger or Instagram.
  • You need actions and integrations with other tools.
  • You want several agents for different purposes.
  • You have someone technical who enjoys configuring things.

Nexoply is the better fit if:

  • You want an assistant on your website only, set up without technical help.
  • You want predictable pricing by conversation, starting at $0 and $19/month.
  • You want your branding removed without a separate add-on (Business, $49/month).
  • Your visitors speak different languages: Nexoply answers in 12, and its dashboard is in those 12 languages too.

What Nexoply is not: it isn't a live-chat or helpdesk inbox for human agents, it isn't an email, WhatsApp, Instagram or phone channel, it doesn't track e-commerce orders, and it doesn't take bookings or payments itself (it can link to your booking page, phone or WhatsApp). You get one chatbot per business.

Accuracy, spam and privacy

Nexoply is instructed to answer only from your information and to say when it doesn't know. Like any AI, it isn't perfect, so every conversation is in your dashboard, with topics, busiest times and the pages where the chat was opened.

Built-in spam protection gives unrelated questions, junk and floods a short polite reply without using AI, and pauses repeat offenders automatically. You can adjust how strict it is. Each business's information is kept separate and only powers its own assistant. The widget sets no cookies, and you can turn it off with one switch.

Frequently asked questions

Is Chatbase cheaper than Nexoply?

Not for a typical small business website. As of September 2026, Chatbase's paid plans start at $40/month (Hobby, 700 message credits), while Nexoply Starter is $19/month for 500 conversations. Both have free plans: Chatbase gives 50 message credits a month, Nexoply 100 conversations.

Is Chatbase free?

Chatbase has a free plan with 50 message credits a month, 1 agent and 1 MB of training data, and the branding can't be removed, according to the Chatbase pricing page as of September 2026.

What's the difference between message credits and conversations?

A conversation is one visitor's chat from start to finish; it can contain several messages. Chatbase prices by message credits; Nexoply prices by conversations, with a limit of 30 to 60 messages per conversation depending on the plan.

Can Nexoply answer on WhatsApp or Instagram like Chatbase?

No. Nexoply works on your website only. It can show a WhatsApp button on its start screen so visitors can contact you there, but it doesn't answer messages inside WhatsApp or Instagram.

Do I need technical skills to use Nexoply?

No. You import or type your business information and paste one line of code into your website's footer. Our guides show where to paste it on WordPress, Wix and Shopify.
